Had a bit of a scare up at work today; I small tornado made its way through the busy street the store is on. Blew away the big sign out front, shattered the windows of every car in the parking lot, blew part of the roof off. Lots of fun. Very exciting. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get many photos of it, but I did manage to grab a picture of the front doors laying on the floor inside the building. I’ll upload it sometime this weekend. Our store actually got out of it pretty lucky, a few stores down the street were thrashed pretty bad. So here’s to our health and the fact that we live to tell another tale!

Water had started receding along Indiana’s Tippecanoe River, which had risen to record levels along a mile stretch, but numerous roads were still blocked by water in the Monticello area, said White County emergency management director Gordon Cochran. He had no immediate estimate for how many homes were damaged. We’re hoping that by midafternoon it’s going to start going down enough that we can get to some of these places, Cochran said.
