The tornado that hit Atlanta got a lot of news, so I think a lot of people will be wondering about it. First off, Susannah and I were not anywhere near Atlanta when it hit. We were in Pennsylvania at the time. When we returned home, we found the house that we live in unharmed in any way. Our clocks were not even reset so we did not lose power during the storm. Had we been here, it would probably just have seemed like a really bad storm and nothing else.
The path of the tornado did, however, go very close to where I work. There is a wall missing in the King Memorial MARTA station that I get off at when I take MARTA to work. There are also some pictures on the AJC website of some of the damage near the station. I’ve walked passed the building in picture #20 a couple times this week. I’ve also walked through the parking lot in picture #29 which is about 3 blocks from where I work. Amazingly, the building that I work in is fine. I guess that’s just the way it is with tornadoes.
