Darude is famous world-wide for his progressive and uplifting trance music. The Finnish musician’s first single, Sandstorm was a smash hit, and his subsequent debut album, Before the Storm, sold 800,000 copies world-wide, topped the Finnish album charts, and earned him three Finnish Grammy awards.
Darude’s second single was Feel the Beat, another trance music hit. Trance music is a style of electronic music made popular in the 1980s. It features repeating melodic synthesizer phrases and a tempo between 130 and 160 beats per minute.
Feel the Beat, like Sandstorm, was hugely successful, reaching number 5 on the UK Singles chart.
