Storm News & Commentary
My Top 3

Yesterday seemed like a normal day. I went to work early, and got off work early. Nothing big really happened. So I drive directly home and went to check the mail. All the way home I’m listening to the radio and the local sports radio station was at my local homeland gro. I stop off by my mail box and just continue down the road to the homeland. I get to Homeland, air up my tires, and go buy cereal and a sandwich. I get back in my truck and notice it’s starting to sprinkle a little bit.

I get home and open the door and then all of a sudden, I hear the weather radio going crazy. I walk back to the radio to see whats going on, b/c nothing seems wrong. I hear they have issued a tornado warning for Western OK county (That is exactly where I live). I have about a half second to think “huh, I wonder where the tornado is…….” and then I hear what sounds like a freight train outside, and I think a certain curse word in my head and run to make sure the dogs are inside.

I get the dogs in and for about 15-20 seconds, my house is just shaking. luckily there was no damage, but our tree had some limbs fall down. After the winds where gone (not sure if tornado or just strong winds) I hear the city tornado sirens go off!!!! Great job City manager!

The good thing was there was only minor damage around the city. Appears that a rain wrapped tornado skipped around OKC yesterday during rush hour. (yes, OK has a rush hour, kinda)

I would like to give props to all the radio stations and the city manager of OKC for not letting me know I was driving in the path of a tornado.

If it wasn’t for the weather radio I bought for my wife, I could be writing a totally different blog!
